Air Filter
What does it do? Clean the air entering the engine
Why should I change it?
- Keep dirt out of the engine. Dirt will damage piston rings and cylinder walls causing catastrophic failure.
- Protect mass airflow sensor. MAF sensor is very sensitive to dirt, is in the air intake snorkel immediately after the air filter, and costs between $200-$600.
- Improve fuel economy
- Maintain engine performance
- Maintain vehicle warranty
How often should I change it? Whenever it is found dirty during inspection, usually 15,000-30,000 miles depending on mostly upon how much you travel on gravel roads.
